A ONE-DAY WINTER ADVENTURE, CUSTOMIZED FOR YOU

How It Works

Step into the winter Rockies—simple, stress-free, and fully guided.

Step 1: Choose Your Winter Experience

Select from three experience levels—Explorer, Adventurer, and Challenger—based on your fitness, comfort on snow, and how long you’d like to be out. Each level has several winter-friendly route options.

Step 2: Pick Your Date

You choose the day; we match it with the best trail for the conditions. We’ll look at weather, snowpack, and avalanche forecasts to plan the safest, most enjoyable outing.

Step 3: Choose Your Pickup Location

We offer convenient pickups in Banff, Canmore, and Lake Louise. Select your hotel from our list or let us know where you’re staying, and we’ll confirm the details.

Step 4: Select Your Lunch

Choose from our tasty packed-lunch options, perfect for an alpine picnic in the snow. We also provide hot drinks to enjoy during your breaks.

Step 5: Book Your Trip

Complete a short booking form, add any special requests or dietary needs, and you’re all set. We’ll send a detailed confirmation with what to wear and bring.

Step 6: Meet Your Guide & Head Into the Snow

On the day of your tour, your guide will review the plan, check everyone’s gear, and fine-tune the day based on how you’re feeling and the latest conditions. From there, it’s all about enjoying your custom winter adventure.

Choose Your Winter Adventure Level

Level 1 – Winter Explorer

Gentle Winter Walks and Iconic Views Without a Full-Day Commitment

Ideal for families, first-time winter hikers, and anyone who prefers a relaxed pace, our Winter Explorer outings combine short walks with classic sightseeing stops. Expect 1–3 hours of easy walking on packed trails or gentle snowshoe routes, with plenty of time for photos and warm drink breaks.

  • Scenic riverbank and forest loops near Banff or Canmore, with viewpoints over the Bow Valley.
  • Frozen canyon and waterfall walks, where ice formations and snow-draped cliffs create dramatic winter scenery.
  • Lakeshore strolls around iconic mountain lakes, offering big views with minimal elevation gain.

Level 2 – Winter Adventurer

For Active Travelers Seeking a Longer Winter Experience

Designed for guests who enjoy staying active and are comfortable walking for several hours, these 3–5 hour tours blend steady snowshoeing or hiking with rewarding viewpoints and peaceful winter landscapes. No extreme fitness required—just warm layers and a sense of adventure.

  • Rolling snowshoe routes through quiet subalpine forests with panoramic mountain views.
  • Moderate winter hikes to overlooks above the Bow Valley or Icefields Parkway, chosen for safe terrain and great vistas.
  • Snowy meadows and open viewpoints where you can fully experience the silence and scale of the winter Rockies.

Level 3 – Winter Challenger

For Guests Who Crave a Deeper Winter Challenge

If you love pushing yourself and want a full-value winter day in the mountains, our Winter Challenger routes deliver. These 4–6 hour outings involve more elevation gain, deeper snow, and longer distances. They are best suited for guests with good fitness and prior hiking experience. Final route selection is always based on current conditions and safety.

  • Longer snowshoe or hike approaches into quiet winter valleys with big mountain backdrops.
  • Viewpoint-focused tours with sustained uphill sections and rewarding panoramas.
  • High-energy winter days tailored for hikers who want to make the most of their time in the Rockies.
